After much consideration and consultation with the NO HANDS Massage company head office, I have taken the very hard decision to postpone all courses until at least June 2020.
All indicators are that the spread of coronavirus, also known as Covid-19, is showing no signs of slowing.
Although the chance of fatality from the illness is very small, any gathering which brings people into close contact (like a Massage course!) increases the risk of spreading the infection – and so increasing the risk of passing it on to those who are most at risk, those already ill or vulnerable. Not only does this put them at risk, but it also increases the strain on our already stretched health service. Running a Massage course without contravening the advised “social distancing” of 2 metres between people simply isn’t possible.
In addition, it is possible to be carrying the virus, and infecting other people, for up to 14 days before you show any symptoms.
Groups booked on courses generally comprise people from a wide range of geographies. Getting to rub shoulders with such a group is a great treat to look forward to – when we know it is safe to do so. However, gathering in the current climate I believe would be irresponsible both for our own health and that of the communities we will be returning to.
